Sophie Verger joue sur le contraste entre la force de l'animal et la fragilité de l'enfant, en hommage aux chevaux de trait, fidèles compagnons des hommes avant l'arrivée du moteur.
Bronze à patine sombre, 39 x 26 x 12 cm (15 3/8 x 10 1/4 x 4 3/4 in), 2018. Édition limitée à 8 exemplaires + 4 épreuves d'artiste. Un exemplaire a été acquis par le Musée de l'Outil de Wy-dit-Joli-Village (Val-d'Oise).
EN : A powerful Mérens, a horse breed from the Pyrenees, gently lowers its head towards a little girl standing on tiptoe to stroke it. Sophie Verger plays on the contrast between the animal's strength and the child's fragility, a tribute to the draught horses that were man's faithful companions before the engine.
