Your works travel every week to Europe, the United States, the Middle East and Asia. We handle everything from start to finish: you have nothing to arrange.
With more than forty years of experience in transporting works of art, we work with specialist carriers, used to bronze sculptures as well as to large formats.
Allow a few days for delivery within Europe, and around a week outside Europe. We confirm the exact timing and cost before shipping.
Choosing a work is rarely a matter of browsing a catalogue. We take the time to understand the space, the light, the way you live in it, and your budget, and then we propose a short selection rather than an endless choice.
You never buy blind: we bring the works to you, to the exact place where they will stand.
We then stay by your side for everything that comes after the purchase: framing, transport, installation, outdoor fixing for a garden sculpture, care of the patinas and, if needed, restoration.
We also guide the building of a collection over time: which pieces to acquire, in what order, and how they speak to one another.
Forty years in the profession have given us a reliable address book: framers, specialist carriers, installers, architects and interior designers we have worked with for years. Among other projects, we accompanied Barnes for its event at the Hôtel Bleu in Carry-le-Rouet.
We work with
Designing an exhibition means holding a place, a group of works and an idea together. We take care of the whole, from the concept to the dismantling, for towns, estates, hotels, companies and partner galleries.
Selected projects
In 2021 we conceived and produced a monumental exhibition devoted to René Julien in Ramatuelle: eighteen sculptures across three sites, from the Château des Marres to Pampelonne beach, with no institutional funding.
We have also staged Charles Serruya's sculptures at the Cabane Bambou on Pampelonne beach, accompanied Barnes for its event at the Hôtel Bleu in Carry-le-Rouet, and presented our artists at the château La Gayette, in Belgium.
Acquiring a work without tying up your cash is possible. Art Thema was one of the first galleries to offer art leasing in Belgium, more than thirty years ago, and we now assist companies and independent professionals in Belgium and France, together with our partner Sacerd'art.
How it works
You choose the work, you enjoy it in your premises straight away, and you pay a monthly rent over a period of 13 to 48 months. At the end of the contract, you can acquire the work for its residual value, in the region of 10%, return it, or replace it with another.
Why companies choose it
Who it is for
Companies, self-employed and independent professionals, in Belgium and France. Every work in the gallery is eligible. In practice, we recommend leasing from €5,000 upwards: below that, the arrangement brings little benefit.
In practice
We put the file together with you: choice of work, simulation of the monthly rent, contract and delivery. Tax treatment depends on your situation and your country: we provide everything your accountant needs to review the arrangement before signature.
A question, a simulation? Write to us.
Sometimes you fall for a work without being able to picture it at home. Is it too large? Too dark for that wall? Should it stand on the floor instead, near the window?
Send us a few photographs of the room and of the place you have in mind, with an indication of the dimensions. We place the work to scale on your photographs and send you several options, along with our suggestions for positioning, base and lighting.
This is not an architect's rendering: it is a realistic projection, meant to help you decide with peace of mind. And whenever possible, we simply bring the work to you: nothing replaces seeing it for real, in your own light.
For a larger project, several rooms or an entire property, we go further: a visit, photographs, a room-by-room selection and a complete booklet with proposals and prices. We did exactly that for a client who wanted a work in every room of her château.
Send us your photographs and we will come back to you with a first proposal.
A work can be made for you, for a particular place, or to mark a moment. Several of our artists accept commissions, and we act as the link between you and the studio.
Choosing among the artist's options
The simplest route, and often the most effective. The same sculpture may exist in several sizes, from a table bronze to a life-size piece. The patina, too, can be chosen among those the artist favours: Isabel Miramontes's sculptures, for instance, exist in mineral grey or brown. Gregory Castiglia's stainless steel sculptures come in a wide range of metallic shades, and some pieces are available with a gold or silver leaf finish.
Having a work created
A steel wire portrait by Charles Serruya, an armchair or a chair transformed by him, a metal sculpture imagined for a particular place, a work incorporating a text that matters to you: Gregory Castiglia, Caroline Brisset, Charles Serruya, Béatrice Cols and Maison Fabienne Decornet create entirely new pieces, one of a kind.
Designing a piece for a place
For a garden, an entrance, a hotel lobby or an architectural project, the question is no longer only the work but its relationship to the space: dimensions, base, anchoring, orientation, light. We then work with you, your architect or your landscape designer, from the first sketch through to installation. For seafront locations, our sculptors use suitable materials such as marine-grade stainless steel, which withstands salt spray over time.
How it works
You tell us what you have in mind, the place and your budget. We come back with a proposal and a quote, then a sketch or a simulation depending on the project. A deposit confirms the commission and allows the artist to begin. Allow from a few weeks to a few months, depending on the piece and the technique.
An idea, a place, a wish? Tell us about it and we will tell you what is possible.
A work of art is not only an object you own: it acts on the person looking at it. That is what I have observed in collectors for years, and it is what led me to train in art therapy.
Alongside the gallery, I hold individual sessions in my practice and run creative workshops for children in Carry-le-Rouet.
There, creating is not about performance: what matters is the gesture and what it reveals, not the result.
This work shapes the way I choose works and talk about them.
