"Let us not lose the thread that connects us"
A French artist born in 1974, Maison Fabienne Decornet creates airy, graphic and colourful work, guided by "poetry and elegance". Glass, textile and paper, shaped, moulded and woven, are her raw materials.
Her aerial installations, suspended from a series of cables that symbolise the weft of a fabric, are always accompanied by pictorial work.
Traversed by light, they explore space, movement and its vibrations, between balance, silence and density.

Biography
The visual arts and textile arts are the source of her work. She studied visual arts at the Institut Saint-Luc in Tournai, then trained in textile design at La Cambre (1995-1996) and the Haute École Francisco Ferrer (1999) in Brussels.
She began with textile design and styling in 2001, then moved into design and interior fit-out from 2002. Glass later joined textile and paper, and the three materials now combine in mobile installations traversed by light.
Her work questions identity, coexistence and complementarity. The thread becomes a metaphor for what connects us: continuity, memory, connection.
Interior architects commission her for design and fit-out projects in private and public spaces: bespoke installations, glass partitions and custom-made layouts. She also leads educational projects in the visual arts and has taught at several art and design schools in northern France (ICART, EIDM, ESDAC, ESAAT).
