• > A Dozen of Sculptures & 6 New Arrivals
Feb - Mar 2022 before going to London Art Fair (Apr)

  • Isabel Miramontes was born in Santiago de Compostella in Spain. This eminent place of pilgrimage, which is of Celtic origin, the warm wind and sea, always fascinates her and remains for her a magical area.

  •  The body, posture, movement and essence of human life are at the heart of Miramontes’ work. Abstract bodies cut into strips, Isabel Miramontes explores the concept of sculpture. At the height of the usual sculpture, she opposes an apparent emptiness. For her, sculpture is not a block of material to which a shape is given, sculpture is a void to which the artist gives a surface.

  • Matter resduced to the essential that gently transforms itself into emotions and forgotten sensations, the supreme value of its destiny.  The visual language of Isable Miramontes steadfastly represents the human being in all the ambiguity of its power and frailty, its confinement and yearning for liberty, its dreams and triumphs. The fascinating figure, the synthesis of forms and thoughts, expresses the reality of life with its moments of joy, but also drama, abandon and tension. Indeed a figure who most assuredly speaks to everyone at the very depth of their being...

MORE ABOUT ISABEL MIRAMONTES

  • Unique Art of Emptiness

    • Isabel Miramontes creates bronze sculptures with a warm patina. Her works show sketched human bodies, associated with shapes or objects and others, more realistic. In most of her works, emptiness is inviting herself. The body, posture, movement and essence of human life are at the heart of Miramontes’ work.

    • The body of passage sometimes becomes invisible. The curve of a lounge chair, a bench, a face and feet suggest the presence of a possible body as a spirit who would have chosen to live there.

    • The symbolism of emptiness: The scope of the characters of Miramontes whose face is only sketched is metaphorical and metaphysical. For Isabel Miramontes, the Human existence, at once concrete and impalpable, is made of flesh and bones and that part of essential emptiness which our emotions constitute.

    HORIZON

*** First Edition, New Blue Color Available***

    New year, new horizon...
Hand in visor, the character of Isabel Miramontes scans the horizon, her body gently swept by the wind.
Is he waiting for better days, the return of a loved one, or is he simply admiring a sunset or the flight of a gull?
This sculpture is part of the theme of the wind and the seaside, dear to the artist from a coastal region, Galicia.

We find the aesthetics of Miramontes with these dancing bronze strips around the character and the affection of the artist for the contemplation of the sea, her gaze on the horizon, and the well-being of the caress of the wind...
Isabel Miramontes gives each of her sculptures a soul of his own.

  • Fusion of Emotion And Love

    • Fusion of bodies and fusion of souls. Tango mixes the bodies of the dancers.

    • Isabel Miramontes gives each of his sculptures a soul of his own. Each figure carries within it a message delivered by a movement, a posture, an expression. To achieve this near perfection, Isabel Miramontes shapes the material, lightens it, softens it, bares it, works the curves until reaching this subtle and powerful balance.

    • Isabel Miramontes has been dancing Tango for so long, a sculpture was to be born from it, tracing with veracity the discipline and the emotion it gives to the dancer and viewer ...
