EN : Maia is a life-size female figure made of 3,500 stainless steel nuts, welded one by one by hand by Gregory Castiglia. Its openwork structure lets the gaze and the light pass through the body: the sculpture feels both present and immaterial, and changes with the viewing angle, the time of day and the seasons. A refined balance between strength and delicacy, matter and void.
Polished stainless steel, polyurethane varnish finish, on a 60 cm diameter base, 175 x 60 cm (68 7/8 x 23 5/8 in), 2025. Limited edition of 8 + 4 artist's proofs. Suitable indoors and outdoors; colour finish available on request.
