Un éléphanteau bondit par-dessus le dos de son parent, qui l’encourage d’un regard bienveillant, comme on saute les obstacles de la vie.
Très dynamique, cette sculpture en bronze (27 x 14 x 17 cm) donne du courage : l’artiste en garde d’ailleurs un exemplaire sur son bureau. Sa patine met en valeur un modelé riche et texturé.
EN : With À saute-mouton (Leapfrog), created in 2020, Sophie Verger revisits her “Éléphant saute !” in a smaller format, at the request of a collector. A calf leaps over its parent’s back, encouraged by a kindly gaze, just as we leap over life’s obstacles.
Highly dynamic, this bronze sculpture (27 x 14 x 17 cm) is a source of courage: the artist keeps one on her own desk. Its patina brings out a rich, textured modelling.
