EN : With Éléphant au jardin (Elephant in the Garden), created in 2024, Sophie Verger revisits the classic theme of the “elephant with a bird”. Sitting down, a young elephant raises its curving trunk high to converse with the bird perched on it, giving the whole piece a wonderful lightness.
Its slate-grey patina enhances the highly textured skin of the animal. Cast at the Harze art foundry, this bronze sculpture (77 x 74 x 45 cm) is designed for the garden, where several editions have already found a home, including two in the United States.
