EN : Bembeleza means “caress” in Kenya. In this sculpture created in 2022, Sophie Verger stages a joyful, tender game: an adult elephant tickles with the tip of its trunk a calf rolling on its back. The artist sees herself in it with one of her grandchildren, and dedicates the work to all parents and grandparents in the world.
Its warm patina and lively surface give this bronze sculpture (26 x 54 x 17 cm) great gentleness. A meaningful gift to celebrate a birth or a family.
