EN : A large halved apple, set upright on a base, reveals the serene face of a woman at its heart. With Eve, René Julien (1937-2016) poetically revisits the forbidden fruit and the first woman, a symbol of knowledge and femininity. Its mottled, nuanced verdigris patina gives the work an almost mineral depth.
Green patina bronze, 45 x 46 x 12 cm (17 3/4 x 18 1/8 x 4 3/4 in), 2009. Edition 2/8; last edition, as the moulds no longer exist. An original, symbolic piece.
