Maison Fabienne Decornet French, b. 1974

  • Overview

"Let us not lose the thread that connects us"

Maison Fabienne Decornet develops a practice rooted in the coexistence of materials and the circulation of energies.

Her work is structured around three main mediums — glass, textile and paper — which she brings together through a rigorous technical and creative process. Both fragile and powerful, these materials embody the tension between autonomy and connection, between isolation and dialogue.

Before becoming complementary, they exist independently; through their encounter, they reveal a new balance — sensitive and poetic.

This approach nourishes a wide range of contemporary artistic projects, from installation to scenography, from object creation to interdisciplinary collaborations and spatial architecture.

Together, these works form an open research into society and into what connects individuals while preserving their identity and singularity.

  • Biography

Maison Fabienne Decornet is a contemporary French artist who explores the dialogue between glass, stainless steel, textiles, and paper through poetic, aerial installations. Trained in visual and textile arts, she creates vibrant compositions that play with light, transparency, and movement. Her work has been exhibited internationally and she regularly collaborates with interior architects and institutions on bespoke, site-specific projects.

Maison Fabienne Decornet is a French visual artist whose work lies at the crossroads of textile art, contemporary sculpture, and poetic installation. Trained in both visual and textile arts in Brussels, alongside studies in contemporary dance, she developed a profound sensitivity to movement, rhythm, and material interaction. These disciplines continue to shape her unique artistic language.

Over the years, Maison Fabienne Decornet has developed a refined practice integrating glass, stainless steel (inox), textiles, and paper — materials she considers complementary and autonomous in their expression. Her creative journey began through collaborations with design and textile companies, and continued with independent research into material memory, light reflection, and fluid spatial arrangements.

Her aerial installations — symbolic of the woven thread of life — are both graphic and vibrantly chromatic, weaving stories of identity, space, and perception. Maison Fabienne Decornet gives form to invisible energies, using her signature interplay of transparency and structure to suggest movement, serenity, and lightness. Each piece is a precise, poetic construction, where the “thread” becomes a metaphor for continuity, memory, and connection.

We are always particularly pleased to present her singular artistic practice at leading art fairs in France and Belgium, where her compositions are consistently recognised for their innovation and visual poetry.

Today, Fabienne Decornet is increasingly commissioned by interior architects and design professionals to create bespoke installations for both private and public spaces. She collaborates closely with clients to produce site-specific works that resonate with their environments and narratives — from monumental suspended structures to intimate, light-infused wall compositions.

She also continues to lead educational art programs and engage with public projects in France, particularly in her native region of Hauts-de-France, where her work often references industrial and regional heritage.

At the core of her approach is a belief in the coexistence and dialogue of materials. Her installations offer a sensorial journey through light, space, and vibration — and a compelling invitation to see beyond the visible.
