Se pencher sur les traces c'est conduire une enquête, comme les sioux de Longue Carabine ou d'Œil de Lynx, penchés sur les marques d’un sabot de cheval au pas ou au galop laissées dans la poussière du chemin.
Source d’information fragile et éphémère car le vent efface tout.
